The Sales Meeting That Turned Into a Confession
Every once in a while I sit in on a sales meeting where, about ten minutes in, the tone shifts. Someone finally says out loud what everyone's been thinking privately — "honestly, I don't trust the numbers on this board."
It's always a little uncomfortable. It's also usually the most useful ten minutes of the whole meeting.
Because once that's out in the open, you can actually fix it. Before that, everyone's been nodding along to a pipeline number that nobody really believes, which means the forecast is fiction and the planning built on top of it is fiction too.
I'd rather have one uncomfortable, honest meeting than twelve polite ones built on numbers nobody trusts.
If your team said what they really thought about your pipeline accuracy today, what do you think they'd say?
