The Fix That Kept Getting Pushed to 'After the Busy Season'

September 03, 20261 min read

Every owner I've ever met has a version of this sentence: 'We know that's a problem, we'll fix it after the busy season.' Onboarding, the CRM mess, the pricing inconsistency — pick one, it's usually on that list.

The thing is, there's always a busy season. And right behind it, there's always a slightly different urgent thing. I've watched the same fix get postponed for three consecutive years by three different versions of 'right after this.' Meanwhile the cost of not fixing it — the ramp-up time, the margin leakage, the owner-dependency — just kept compounding quietly in the background, unbilled and unnoticed.

This one isn't really about any single leak. It's about the fact that all four of them share the same enabler: there's rarely a bad moment to finally look, and there's always a decent excuse not to.

What's the fix you've been meaning to get to 'after the busy season' for more than one busy season now?
